in all honesty, this book doesn't tell you much your average teenage punk rocker couldn't; it's just the detail that naomi klein goes into that makes it such an amazing read. whilst the issue of branding is not nearly AS bad as it is in the US, where a large number of the examples given are, it is still a scary and claustrophobic read. it makes you truely realise how under the thumb you are. it makes you realise that every person you walk past with a massive logo or brand name on their chest has been turned into a giant billboard. and the worst part is, people don't even think into it. maybe it's just me that gets angry at the preppy kids who walk around with the abercrombie tee's, all of which just have the brand name in massive letters...
but also examples such as the abc-disney ties. the news is meant to be facts and opinions. but given major corporations now have massive ties in what the news is and isn't is scary. that said, what abc doesn't report on disney, some other network will. but just imagine where this is heading. that is what the post i put in my gallery is about, where is this brand infused world heading. scary, isn't it?

this is not a logo <3
